Dorothea Lange (May. 26, 1895 – Oct. 11, 1965) was an American documentary photographer and photojournalist, whose photographs humanize the consequences of the Great Depression and influenced the development of the documentary photography. She is best known for her Depression-era work for the Farm Security Administration (FSA).

Lewis Hine (Sept. 26, 1874 – Nov. 3, 1940) was an American sociologist and photographer, who took powerful photographs of children working long hours in textile mills and other industries. His photographs were also helpful in changing child labor laws in the United States.
eadweard muybridge
Eadweard Muybridge (April. 9, 1830 – May. 8, 1904) was an English photographer who invented the "zoopraxiscope" that produced a series of images of a moving subject. The "zoopraxiscope" is a device for projecting motion pictures that pre-dated the flexible perforated film strip used in cinematography.
mathew brady
Mathew Brady (May. 18, 1822 – Jan. 15, 1896) was one of the first American photographers who had permission to photograph images of the Civil War Battlefields. Thousands of war scenes were captured, including portraits of generals and politicians. After the war, these pictures went out of fashion, and the government didn't purchase the master-copies as he had anticipated. His fortunes were declined, and died in debt.
